When you arrive at QFX East, we know you will be excited to get in and start having fun with your friends right away. To get everyone inside quickly and safely, we will be implementing various policies and measures to ensure efficient screening without compromising safety. Thank you in advance for being super awesome about your role in being prepared and helping us give you a great convention experience. There's a lot of important information here, so please read carefully and completely so you'll know exactly what to expect.

As a part of our efforts to keep QFX East as safe as possible, there will be a bag check upon entering the venue. In order for security to be effective, anyone who has exited the convention space cannot reenter without being screened again. Though it is not mandatory, we strongly suggest you bring clear bags to the event to expedite this process
Everyone will be subject to handheld metal detectors upon entry. You are free to bring everything that you may need with you but the less you have, the faster and easier it will be to get through security
To enter QFX East convention space, you MUST already have your badge. If you arrive during hours of the event, you can pick up your badge for entry at our registration desk. You will not have access to any event space without your badge
Have your badge out and visible as you get ready to go inside the convention space
We ask that you please remain patient and courteous with QFX staff and security performing security checks. We have your best interests at heart and want to get you inside the convention space as quickly as possible

Security Inside

Everyone must wear their QFX East badge at all times. This includes exhibitors, vendors, attendees, speakers, guests, artists, professionals, press, staff, and volunteers
Uniformed and plain-clothes security personnel will be in attendance in our convention space
We ask that you please report anything that looks unusual, suspicious or out of place. Such reports can be directed to security, staff or volunteers
Please keep personal property with you at all times. Do not leave your bag unattended or watch someone else's belongings if you do not know them
It is highly suggested that you carry at least one form of recognized photo ID with you while attending the convention

Harassment Policy

QFX Events is dedicated to providing safe and harassment-free environments for all persons in attendance at any of our events. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment, intimidation and discrimination.

This includes all harassment, intimidation, and discrimination made on the basis of race, age, sex, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, religion, class, body size, veteran status, marital/domestic partnership status, citizenship or any other marginalized identity.

Harassment also includes verbal comments, written comments, displayed images, or behaviors such as deliberate intimidation, stalking, body policing, unwelcome photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Any of the aforementioned behavior is not welcome in any QFX event spaces and will not be tolerated. Violation of this policy will result in immediate removal from the event without a refund.

Our anti-harassment policy applies to attendees, guests, volunteers, staff and any other persons in attendance at our events. Should you feel like you are being harassed, please find the nearest staff member so that a confidential report can be made. This policy extends to online activities as well. If you witness or are the target of online harassment by a known attendee, please email us at info@qfxevents.com.

Weapons Policy and Cosplay Regulations

ALLOWED PROPS AND ARMOR:

Bows that are completely inoperable (loosely strung or not strung at all)
Non-removable arrows in a quiver AND/OR arrows with no tip
Foam, plastic, fiberglass, resin or metal shields with no sharp edges; please note that metal shields are allowed, but may slow down the screening process at security
Armor made of plastic, fiberglass, resin, or metal
Any other props and armor made of plastic, thermoplastic, urethane resin, cardboard, foam, foam rubber or other lightweight material
Cosplay props or costumes made of light metals are allowed, but may slow you down at security

Please review our entire weapons policy before attending QFX East. Failure to adhere to our policy may result in your item being confiscated or your removal from the show without refund.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED FROM QFX EAST:

Functional firearms including air soft guns and bb guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns
Realistic replica firearms including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms
Functional projectile weapons such as blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns
Sharpened metal-bladed weapons including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, swords, sword canes and switch blades
Hard prop weapons made of metal, fiberglass, stone or glass
Real, replica, or simulated explosives, ammunition, chemical weapons of any kind, including but not limited to simulated bomb vests, cartoon bombs, bullets, hand grenades, firecrackers, pepper spray or mace
Hate symbols are not permitted, in any capacity, at QFX East. We will not allow costumes that contain hate symbols or appropriate the symbolism of hate groups, including, but not limited to, historical/comic-related/satirical costumes that are associated with Nazis

All cosplay props will be tagged and peace-bonded prior to entering our convention space. If a prop is deemed unsafe or considered to be a part of our prohibited items list, you will need to return it to your home, room or vehicle if applicable.
