Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a family-oriented person who lives in Jersey with my girlfriend Mel and our cat and dog. I'm a pediatric neurosurgery coordinator. I'm very focused at work but outside of work I can't sit still. I love spending time with my niece and going for random drives.

How did you get involved with QFX?

My girlfriend Mel.

There are a ton of conventions out there, some that do cater to the LGBTQ+ community, how do you feel QFX is different?

I feel QFX is different because they genuinely care about the community. They want to treat everyone how they should be treated and give everyone the con they deserve.

Of all the guests that one could possibly ask for, who would you love to see or meet?

I'd love for it to some day include sports stars.

QFX has made it quite clear they are all about diversity, inclusivity and accessibility. What does this mean to you?

To me it means respect.

We’ve all heard the phrase “representation matters”, but it can ring hollow in our current times. What do you feel or think when you hear it?

To me representation matters means showing people they're not alone.

If we were sitting in your living room, wanting to watch a show or movie, what are the top five you would recommend we binge?

Sister Act; Shameless; Schitt$ Creek; Grace and Frankie; Jeopardy

You seem to have eclectic taste when it comes to music mentioning Britney Spears and Andrea Bocelli. If we swiped your phone, what does your current playlist have on it?

A mix of classical, opera, rap, alternative, classic rock and punk. I also have a soft spot for all types of covers.

What are your fur babies names? Pups or kitties?

Dog named Jack and a cat named Badelia.

Name one thing you do (hobby, quirk, or something else) that people might find odd?

I have heightened senses with perfect peripheral vision and great reflexes.

To game or not to game… Do you? If so, which systems and what is your favorite.

Old school systems are my favorite. I have NES, SNES, GameCube, Atari Flashback, PS2, Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii. I like the originals like Super Mario and on the newer systems I like racing games like Forza.

I have to ask, as a spreadsheet maven myself, do you have spreadsheets for spreadsheets? How does this help you keep on top of things?

I use spreadsheets for everything, even party planning. It helps me keep things organized. I don't like when things aren't organized.

You’re a Hufflepuff, but that’s Universal/WB. I have to ask what Disney character would you be?

I think I'd be a combination of Eeyore and Piglet.

Final question, what do you hope people who attend QFX leave saying or feeling?

I hope they leave feeling like they were a part of something special.

Thanks Nic for taking the time to do this interview. We all hope you enjoyed getting to know her a bit better.

**Until next time, this is Kimberly “Help, help, a Herrible Hoffalump!” Amato, signing off.**
